Are D Barb, D Oak, and the other species in D Mud the same species?
We are pretty sure that the Daphnia in D Oak and D Barb are a different species than those in the other ponds (not pulex). We also think D Mud is a mix of pulex and another species. Are these "other" species all the same species? To address this I graphed the allele distribution (prop alt) of these ponds against each other. Here are the results.
First, graphing D Oak versus D Barb. These clearly look like the same species.
First, graphing D Oak versus D Barb. These clearly look like the same species.
Next looking at D Oak and D Barb versus D Mud. I think these graphs support there being a mix of species in D Mud, with one (the predominant?) being the same species as in D Oak and D Barb.
Now looking at one of these graphs using geom_hex. We can see that peak at 0.75 that we saw in the original pooled propalt distribution for D Mud, and all these alleles appear to be fixed in D Barb.
